Obituary of Doyle Fay Housley

Doyle Housley was born on February 17th, 1938 at the Flowers Hospital in Tulsa, OK to Chester Clinton Housley Sr and Pauline Vera Chilcoat Housley. They resided in Jenks, OK and later moved to Sapulpa, OK where he attended Sapulpa Public Schools. He married Louetta Pauline Walker on June 7th, 1956. Together they had two daughters, Nikki and Natalie. He went to work for Sapulpa Tank Company in 1958. Over the years he was a truck driver, heavy equipment operator, and a submerged arc welder. He traveled all over the United States for his jobs until he retired from American Tank and Vessel in 2003. He traveled on to his heavenly home on December 28th, 2018.

Doyle loved being surrounded by his family and friends. Some of his favorite things to do were camping with his family at the lake, taking care of his pristine yard, watching his granddaughter cheer at football games and competitions, traveling, and visiting Stillwater for Cowboy Football and Eskimo Joe’s pulled pork (GO Pokes). His fondest memory was traveling to Atlanta, GA for the nations largest cheer competition and following the trail of glitter to get to the convention center. Together with his family he enjoyed traveling to places like Talladega for the NASCAR races, Hawaii, Niagara Falls, Mexico, and cruising to The Bahamas. Doyle loved animals and was known for taking in stray cats from his alley. Two of his recues were his cats Tigger and Willie. He loved his great-grandson “Mr. Jax” very much and talked about him to everyone he met. He was lovingly known as “Mr. Doyle” by many.

Doyle enjoyed attending church with his family. He was baptized by his brother, The Reverend Dale Housley, at Christ Church in Tulsa on April 4th, 2004.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Housley Sr and Pauline Housley; two brothers Chester Housley Jr and Donald Housley; and his sister Carla Bilyeu. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louetta Housley; daughters Nikki Jones and Natalie Fielden of Sapulpa; Granddaughter Samantha Crank and husband Michael of Stillwater; Great-Grandson Jaxton Crank of Stillwater; sisters Anita Carrel of Sapulpa and Carolyn Wentzel of Perkins; brothers Dale Housley of Tulsa and Clinton Housley of Sapulpa; and many more family and friends.
