Obituary of Vivian Sue Wilks
Vivian Sue Honeycutt married Clay Patrick Arnold in 1973 and had her oldest daughter, Holly Sue. In 1975, She married John Henry Thomas Clemmons. They had three daughters-Ladonna Shirlynn, Dorothy Ann “Annie” Margarette, and Charlotte “Rachel” Marie. They primarily raised their girls in Oologah, Oklahoma until they divorced.
In 1991, Sue met the love of her life and her very own Prince Charming, Arthur Wayne Wilks. They married in a beautiful ceremony on April 24, 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and were married for thirty wonderful (but not nearly enough) years. They had many adventures together and an undying love. They were truly partners in every sense of the word.
There are not enough pages or words to describe how unbelievably giving, compassionate and kind-hearted she was. Sue was passionate about many things in life, but none more than her family. She had several jobs over the years and ambitions bigger than imagination allows, but she was most in her element as a wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her husband. She was incredibly proud of her legacy and wanted nothing more than to spend her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her eyes danced as she colored with little ones or read to them. Her voice audibly beamed when she spoke about the big kids. She was so proud of all of them, she couldn’t brag enough. She never stopped mothering her daughters to the very last day and she never, ever stopped letting them know how much she loved them, even when she couldn’t speak. She was always available to give advice or a shoulder to cry on to anyone who merely asked.
She was an excellent seamstress and loved to quilt. She enjoyed crafting. Sue was amazingly intelligent and loved to learn new things and about things she didn’t know. She was constantly educating herself or learning a new skill. Perhaps her most appreciated and demanded skill was cooking and baking. She stored recipes in her mind better than Google, baked heavenly desserts and taught herself to be a master cake decorator. She knew all the best comfort foods and exactly when they were needed.
Second only to her family, she absolutely adored her dog, Sugar, who brought her incredible comfort as she struggled with her health over the past year.
She put her whole heart into anything she loved. She had incredible strength and resilience and showed it until the very end.
Vivian Sue (Honeycutt) Wilks left this world, peacefully, for her forever after on January 11, 2023, with her husband and soulmate, Arthur, by her side and surrounded by family. She was loved beyond imagination and will be missed beyond measure.
